Posing Tips Inside the Guide

You do not need to be a model or to feel confident yet. A handful of simple poses and someone guiding you through them is all it takes. For more, see male boudoir photography and boudoir album ideas.

Start at the window

Most sessions open with standing poses in soft side light. It is the most flattering light there is, and the easiest place to relax.

Give your hands a job

A hand on the hip, in your hair, or on the curtain. Relaxed fingers, never a grip. Tension shows in the arms first.

The hip-shift curve

Sink your weight into the back hip and soften the front knee. It shapes the whole body and is the base for half the standing poses.

Chin down, eyes up

Bring your chin down slightly and your eyes up to the lens. It is the most flattering angle for the eyes and defines the jaw.

Covered can be striking

An oversized shirt, a robe off one shoulder, or a linen sheet worn like a gown often makes the most intimate frame in the gallery.

For him, too

Strong lines, relaxed hands and good light: window light, an armchair lean, cufflinks, and a confident wall lean.

Boudoir Guide FAQ

Is the boudoir posing guide free?

Yes. Fill out the short form and the 62-page PDF download appears right away. It covers planning, getting ready, what to wear, what to expect, privacy, and 42 poses with tips.

I have never done boudoir. Will I know what to do?

You do not need to. Every pose is coached in real time and adjusted for you, your outfit and the light, and you can skip anything that does not feel like you. Most clients say they felt awkward for the first five minutes and confident for the rest.

Who sees my boudoir photos?

Only you. Images go into a password-protected gallery, and nothing is ever posted to the website, social media, or shared with anyone without your explicit written consent.
