Planning Tips Inside the Kit
A team headshot day is mostly logistics. Get the room, the schedule and the wardrobe brief right and the photos take care of themselves. For more, see team headshots in Boston and team headshots on the South Shore.
One standard pose
Choose one pose for everyone before the day. It is the single biggest factor in a team page that matches.
Lock the background
Grey, white or your brand color, chosen in advance and never changed, so new hires match too.
Leadership first
Schedule the leadership and group photos at the start of the day, before calendars fill up.
10 to 15 minutes each
Plan about 10 to 15 minutes per person including transitions. A team of 10 takes about two hours.
A clear dress code
Mixed formality is the most visible mismatch on a team page. Say the dress code plainly in the announcement.
Plan for new hires
Keep the setup on file so people you hire next year match the team photographed today.
Planning Kit FAQ
Is the headshot day planning kit free?
Yes. Fill out the short form and the PDF download appears right away. It includes the planning pages, four copy-and-paste templates and 12 standard poses.
How long does a team headshot day take?
Plan about 10 to 15 minutes per person including transitions and touch-ups. A team of 10 takes about two hours and a team of 25 about half a day. Add 15 to 20 minutes for each leadership or group photo.
How far ahead should we book?
One to two weeks is usually enough for five people or fewer. For 10 to 50 or more, book three to four weeks ahead so the schedule, the room and any on-site logistics can be planned.
